Ajman: Ajman Police have launched an awareness campaign to reduce the number of shop robberies in the emirate.

Called ‘Be Careful,’ the new campaign aims to ensure outlet and shop owners know the importance of adopting adequate security measures on their premises.

The campaign targets all industrial and commercial outlets and comes as part of the Ministry of Interior’s strategic plan.

According to Captain Mohammad Ahmad Al Suwaidi, an Ajman Police director, getting the public involved is key in curbing robberies.

Outlet owners should strictly implement all security measures at their establishments to secure their property, he said.

“Statistics revealed that failing to implement the proper measures and the reckless attitude towards security of some owners are primary flaws in the system.”

A total of 140 brochures with safety and security tips were distributed among shop owners. The brochures were in different languages.

Police teams also distributed questionnaires to learn more about the views and proposals that shop owners have about thefts.

Shop owners praised Ajman Police for the tips on securing their premises.
