Baby transferred to hospital after discovery

Sharjah: A newly-born baby boy was found at the entrance of a building in Abu Shagara area in Sharjah, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

The baby boy, wrapped in a piece of cloth, was found at around 5pm by a woman who took the baby and kept him with her for two days.

Later, the incident was reported to Al Gharb police station and the baby was transferred to Al Qasimi Hospital.

Officials said the age of the boy was estimated to be a few days and he has dark skin and Asian features. The baby boy was reported to be in good health.

Police have launched a hunt to track down the mother and arrest her.

The baby boy will be handed over to the child protection committee in Sharjah in a couple of days.
