The Food and Environment Control Centre (FECC) at Abu Dhabi Municipality will hold a training course on the environment beginning on Saturday.
The course is aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skill of its staff and others to improve handling of environmental management systems. The two-day course, called 'Environmental Management Syst-ems Internal Auditor', will be held at the FECC premises.
The training is part of the FECC's activities to mark the 28th World Environment Day.
The course is designed for executives and representatives of FECC, the Environment Protec-tion Section (EPS) of the centre, and five members of Abu Dhabi Green Hoteliers, a group operating under the umbrella of the FECC.
Dr Imad Al Taher of the EPS, said that the course, based on the requirements of ISO 14001, covers all aspects of improving an organisation's environment performance.
Dr Amin M. Yousuf, Director of the FECC, said his centre is quality and environment conscious since its inception in 1978.
The centre obtained its ISO 9002 certification in July 1998 and ISO 17025. The FECC has been successfully maintaining its reputation and has lately attained the new version of ISO standard 17025.
The course will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the main conference hall of the FECC, and end at 5:00 p.m. on both days.
