Hrithik Roshan in trouble

Hrithik Roshan is in trouble from a multinational TV channel after he backed out from a contract with the channel. Roshan had already signed a contract that he would do an interview on that channel.

The channel authorities were reportedly upset because he backed out. Roshan was a little sceptical because he realised that he was being over exposed due to the immense publicity he was drawing.

Moreover the publicity blitz on channels had increased in a huge manner for Mission Kashmir and Hrithik Roshan was seen all over. Moreover he also has an interview coming up with Simi Grewal on Star Plus. So Roshan Jr backed out of the show. The channel is planning a huge suit against Hrithik now.

UP is anti-Bachchan now!

Has Amitabh Bachchan committed blasphemy? That is what some pundits from UP say. If you have seen Mohabbatein, Bachchan mouths the Gayatri mantra in one scene. And the pundits say that the utterance of the mantra by Amitabh amounts to blasphemy.

The mantra is not to be uttered in public and thus the pundits are demanding that the scene should be deleted in the film and that Amitabh should tender an apology. A religious organisation Ved Praryan Kendram has even urged the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry to take action against Bachchan for uttering the mantra.

This is not new to UP. Earlier Deepa Mehta's sets of Water were set ablaze in Varanasi when she was making a film on widows who were forced into prostitution.

South producer makes Manisha pay

Producer Ramu and director Upendra suffered huge losses when Manisha Koriala did not come for the shooting of their film in Kannada. The reason was simple. Manisha had landed the plum assignment of hosting Sawaal Dus Crore Ka on Zee TV.

Manisha got a huge sum of Rs 80 million as a result of the show and she was not ready to let that money go from her. So she did not go to the shoot of two films. One was this Kannada film and the other was Raj Kumar Santoshi's Lajja.

While Santoshi was convinced thanks to Manisha's good equation with the producer Bharat Shah, Ramu and Upendra's losses had to be recouped. So Manisha paid Rs 20 lakhs to them from the amount she got from Zee.

Preity Zinta back with Marc

Preity Zinta is back with her boyfriend Marc Robinson. After a small and incongruous flirt with Sanjay Dutt, the Zindadil babe went back to her old boyfriend. Zinta and Robinson had been going around for quite sometime.

But after Zinta realised that the flirtatious Dutt was merely using her, she abandoned all hopes of going a good distance with the deadly Dutt. It didn't take long for this girl to understand that relationships are based on trust and a long-term relationship is what Rhea Pillai was striving for.

But when Dutt could abandon the girl who stood by him in thick and thin, Zinta realised that he couldn't stick to her for long. But realisation dawned only after Rhea called up Preity and spoke to her.

Sanyal: Back with a bang

Abhijit Sanyal, 1999 Grasim Mr International and grandson of playback singer Kishore Kumar, is back in reckoning. And how! Despite a long scar on his cheek, he now has the Kingfisher ad and a film assignment as well.

If you recall, Sanyal was assaulted by three unidentified men with swords and weapons on the night of October 30, while alighting from his car near his residence in Seven Bungalows. He was returning from a party with model Marc Robinson. A badly injured Sanyal was admitted to Nanavati Hospital.

Sanyal says he is back just to show his attackers that he is not scared. "I fought them, battled in the hospital, endured bruises and now will fight for a new image."

Nana's professionalism will pay off

Nana Patekar can go out of his way and help people if he wants to. That's what he did during the shooting of Vadh being directed by Raj Bharath.

Raj does not bother much about the suggestions that Patekar gives during the shooting and he even implements them. Hence Patekar came for the shooting of the film even when he had a bad cold and cough and also was running a 102 degree temperature.

Nana Patekar didn't mind doing what many of his colleagues might have never done. This reminds us of the incident in Chaalbaaz when Sridevi turned up for a dance sequence despite a 103 degree temperature. Vadh a way to go, Nana.

Salman, victim of depression

Salman Khan has gone into a deep depression now. His film Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye, flopped miserably at the turnstiles as it was a cross between a romantic film and a comedy and ended up being nowhere.

Sallu Miyan has had only flops coming his way in the last few months and except the mediocre success of his film Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, he has had nothing to do. He is even trying to keep the lucky Rajshri name Prem but that has not done any help at all.

Merely the name Prem will not do. Sallu has to get some good directors to help him out of his crisis. Sallu hoped that Murali Mohan Rao who had earlier directed the successful Bandhan with him and Jackie could do some magic, but Rao failed.

Who is the winner?

Talking of Rajashri's Prem, the toss up for the role of Prem is between Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan in the film Mein Prem Ki Diwani Hoon being directed by Sooraj Barjatya.

It can be recalled that the Rajshris royally dumped Salman Khan after he killed the black bucks during the schedule of Hum Saath Saath Hain at Rajasthan. And now they are making a love triangle for the first time.

Let us assure you that the film is not being called Hum Aapke Hain Trikon or even Hum Teen Saath Saath Hain. So the heroine Kareena Kapoor goes to one guy. And who is that Prem? Hopefully, both the heroes are called Prem!
