A peek into non-surgical hair replacement

Research has shown that 80 per cent of balding men are concerned with their loss. Hair loss has a detrimental effect on their self-esteem and self-image. Our genes and hormones often determine hair loss, but it can also occur due to medical treatment, poor diet, nerve disorders or infections.

Baldness in men shows first with a receding hairline and moderate to extensive loss occurs around the area of the crown. Female hair loss is usually a general thinning of the hair all over the head or in the crown area.

Over the years, various remedies have been put to the test to curtail the loss of hair. Non-surgical treatments like hairpieces, hair weaving, wigs, creams, hormones, vitamins, powders, sprays and even paints have not given the desired results. Surgical hair transplants do not always result in a natural look, is very costly and a lengthy process.

Hair Club is a professional hair centre offering guidance and treatment on hair loss. The company recommends a non-surgical hair replacement treatment to clients. Hair Club realises that hair loss is not by choice. Premature balding is an uncomfortable experience at best and, for many people, it can be extremely traumatic.

"Hair replacement is a young idea in the Middle East. We combine the finest materials in the world with a level of artistry, patience and customer service rarely found in any industry. Hair Club offers Geometrix, a quality product with a six-month limited warranty," says Amin Shaybani, president of the company.

Shaybani himself is a client and has been using the product for the past year. He says, "The hair replacements are designed to create an exact replica of your own hair. Human hair is used in the making of the hair replacement and matched to the customer's hair colour and texture."

The process involves making a mould of the scalp where the hair loss occurs. Hair is attached to a thin layer of polymer, a synthetic material that looks and acts like normal skin. Once the replacement hairpiece is completed, it is fused on to the customer's own hair and strengthened with a medically graded adhesive, which dissolves after two months.
