Kamble Ravindra Manick from India never thought that a purchase on his 48th birthday would turn him into a millionaire overnight.
Manick, who hails from Mumbai and works as a Warranty Administrator for Al Otaiba Group in the capital with a monthly salary of Dh5,500, won the second Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF) 'Win Dh5 million'.
The draw was conducted by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), Abu Dhabi, along with Abdullah Al Hamili, Assistant Undersecretary of the DCA and other senior officials at the Duty Free's premises yesterday.
"I was speechless when I received the call from 21he Abu Dhabi Duty Free to inform that I was the lucky winner of Dh5 million. First, I could not believe it and thought that someone was cracking a joke," he said.
Manick bought the lucky ticket (08641) from downtown City Terminal's check-in facility on his birthday, on September 19.
