When Shehzeen Arif, seven, is not too busy with her studies, she likes to spend time making new friends and playing her choice of music – on air. She is, in fact, the youngest DJ on Hum FM co-hosting the weekly children's show, Hum Hai Kamaal Ke with DJ Payal.

Shehzeen also takes a keen interest in her studies. She is a Grade 3 student at Iba Sena English High School. She reads books, attends creativity classes and prefers listening to new songs. She is occassionally featured on Hum Hai Kamaal Ke, an interactive show with an interesting blend of music and educational information for kids.

During the one-hour show Shehzeen receives calls and quizzes the callers below 10 years of age and finds the whole experience very exciting.Says DJ Payal: "Shehzeen is a brilliant child with inborn talent. She selects the questions for the show herself and is exremely organised and poised."

Being the daughter of well-known radiopersonalities, she certainly is a chip off the old block. She has been frequenting the studios with her mother, Sadiya Ahmed, since she was two months old and naturally feels at home there.

Says Sadiya: "Shehzeen is very observant and though she does not handle the controls she knows what's going on. She was aired for the first time at age three, when she co-hosted Hum Suraj Chand Sitarey with me for AM Radio." Sadiya comperes two game shows for Hum FM. She added that they do encourage their little DJ, but shows are alloted to her keeping her academic schedule in mind.
