Dubai: A fire that broke out in a paint and thinner factory in Quoz Industrial Area Monday night took two hours to control but smoke could still be seen billowing from the site around the area Tuesday morning.

The smoke was a result of burning oils and paints.

Dubai Civil Defence said the fire was first reported at 5:35pm on Monday and was controlled by 7:22pm with the cooperation of fire fighters from Karama, Barsha and Qusais stations.

The cause of the fire had not been identified yet.

A large fire broke out in the National Paints warehouse opposite Al Khail Mall in Al Quoz on Monday evening. Police Civil Defence Firefighters, Ambulances and Paramedics were on the scene. A large crowd of onlookers gathered to watch, there were no immediate reports of injuries according to a Paramedic. The control room received a call about the fire at around 5.25 PM. Plumes of acrid back smoke filled the air and the surrounding area.
