Al Nahda pollution cause for concern

As a resident of Al Nahda, in Sharjah, I would like to highlight my concerns about the pollution in this locality.

It is extremely dusty, due to heavy construction work. Walking to the nearby park is inconvenient, as there are no pedestrian crossings on all adjoining roads.

Huge, open garbage bins are another big problem.

I am really concerned about the health of the people who reside in this area. The pollution is so overwhelming that many people suffer from skin allergies and wheezing problems.

To add to this, there are too many high-rise buildings built close to each other and many more are still under construction. Most of these buildings do not have basement parking, due to which motorists have to park wherever they can.

I suggest that the authorities regulate and monitor the construction of buildings. Enough space should be left between every building to accommodate pedestrians and designated areas should be provided for greenery.

Al Nahda has become overcrowded and there seems to be hardly any space for people or cars to move about. A more organised infrastructure would help solve the problem.
