Capital community policing experience wins UN praise
Abu Dhabi: United Nations' delegation has praised the Abu Dhabi Community Police experience, calling it "a role model that should be emulated by other countries".
The delegation, which includes the UK Police Chief Inspector Alan Costello and Dominic Wissler, Senior Adviser at United Nations Development Programme, expressed their admiration during their visit to the department of Abu Dhabi community police.
"The aim of the visit is to acquaint ourselves with the UAE experience in the field of community police, which has to copied by other countries due to its success on the ground," they said.
Major Mubarak Awad, deputy director of the Abu Dhabi Community Police, said the visit was in line with the instructions of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Interior Minister, to exchange expertise and experience with different countries.
Meanwhile, Shaikh Saif received yesterday at the General Secretariat of the Cabinet a German police delegation headed by Alexander Bek, Director of the police college in Baden-Wurttemberg state and Ralf Machelder, police director in Stuttgart.
Shaikh Saif discussed a number of issues of common interest with the visiting officials.
