Loosen those purse strings as high-end, international designers hit town
DUBAI Just because Dubai fashion Week has been cancelled for this year doesn’t mean the city’s fashionistas need to lose out on their seasonal dose of fashion highlights.
Vibrance, a one-day fashion extravaganza on October 13, promises more glam than needed to fill in the fashionable gaps. Showcasing never-seen-before collections by renown designers, the Vibrance Fashion Fiesta promises a day of art, music, style, make-up and, of course, high-end luxury fashion.
Tamanna Vasandani, founder of Vibrance, says the event aims to cater to the burgeoning luxury and fashion market. “We don’t work like many other fashion events around town. Meaning we don’t do fashion shows. What we do instead is an entire day of luxury exhibitions, with international designers on hand to talk to clients and buyers about their fashion choices, their styles, designs and just about anything fashion-related. There’ll be luxury trial rooms so buyers can try on the designer gear for themselves, being transformed by the designers into the fashion models so obviously left out of the day.”
Designers debuting their latest collection include Tamanna Punjabi Kapoor, a Indian who will showcase her festive line of Eid and Diwali ethnic outfits; Hong Kong’s Kashish Hemnani with his Laykh collection of exotic leather handbags, USA’s Closet, a jewellery line adored by Hollywood celebrities; Dubai’s Lovin My Bags, a concept store specialising in designer bag makeovers; and according to Vasandani, the highlight of the day, the debut collection by Dubai’s newest fashion designer, Eysh.
