329 traffic accidents in Jebel Ali last month

The Jebel Ali Police Station recorded 329 traffic accidents in July and four traffic offences, resulting in five casualties.

The station recorded 27 criminal cases during the same month, 17 of which were dud cheques issued in bad faith totalling Dh800,057.

Dr Jamal Mohammed Al Marri, Acting Director of Jebel Ali Police Station, said the other cases include robbery, alcohol-related offences, and assault.

Dr Al Marri added that the station has managed to curb the rate of crime by forming a work team to observe crimes and devise strategies to combat them.

He called on the public to cooperate with the police and security squads to help fight crimes that affect the security and stability of the community. He stressed the need to follow traffic regulations, and pointed out that most road accidents result from speeding.
