A group of 23 Indians working at six different units of African & Eastern (A&E) became the luckiest persons in Dubai after they won the daily three-in-one prize worth half a million dirhams at the second draw of the Lexus Mega Raffle.

The group had pooled money to buy Lexus tickets on each day of the Festival for the past three years. At last, luck smiled on them on Saturday night. The winners range from managers to helpers.

Krishnan Prasanna, a store assistant at the Karama branch of A&E, on whose name the lucky ticket was bought, was too excited for words, after he learned of their luck.

"I was woken up after midnight by telephone calls from my friends who watched the draw on Dubai TV," said Prasanna. "After all these years of disappointment, we have finally won."

Though each of the 23 colleagues will get around Dh20,000, the winners were all thrilled about their luck. "I will use the money to complete the house which is under construction in Kerala," said Prasanna.

The Lexus Mega Raffle is a promotion that offers a daily three-in-one prize on each day of the Dubai Shopping Festival. Winners who do not wish to keep the cars can choose the buy-back option that allows them to receive cash from Al Futtaim Motors.

The buy-back rate is Dh125,000 for the RX 300 and Dh110,000 for ES 300. A winner using the buy-back option thus receives a total cash amount of Dh435,000.

Tickets for the capped raffle are priced at Dh200 each. Only 5,000 tickets are sold per draw. The tickets are available at all Eppco/Enoc stations in Dubai, Al Fahidi Street, Baniyas Square, Deira City Centre and the Gold Souq.

The lucky winners of the Lexus Mega Raffle are announced at a live draw held every night at the main stage of the Global Village. Dubai TV televises the draw live during a DSF programme at 11.00 pm.
