13 inmates memorise 10 Quran chapters

Thirteen inmates of Dubai Women's Prison who learned up to 10 chapters of the Holy Quran by heart, were honoured in a ceremony held at the Central Prison.

The prisoners had their terms reduced in accordance with the part of the Holy Quran they memorised. The Dubai International Holy Quran Award has introduced a new category called Holy Quran memorisation for UAE national and expatriate prisoners of both sexes.
