A global journey, a personal story

Before the bright lights of Hollywood, Sofronio lived a quiet life in Misamis Occidental, Philippines, where he worked as a dentist. Music was his lifelong passion, passed down from his father, Oniol Vasquez — the man who inspired him to chase his dreams. After his father’s passing, Sofronio returned to music in his honor, eventually rising through the ranks of Tawag ng Tanghalan before stunning the world on The Voice.

Now based in the US, Sofronio’s rise is a powerful tale of talent, resilience, and purpose. Supported by his wife, human rights lawyer Maria Isabel Vasquez, and their two children, he’s an artist who sings not just with technique, but with heart.
