Forum sees speakers underline the importance of communication in achieving national and regional goals
Abu Dhabi : A leading satellite and space technology engineering firm underlined the importance of information sharing between companies and the requirement of a knowledge base in order for the UAE and the region to become leaders in the global space industry, at the Global Space Technology Forum in Abu Dhabi.
LMS International will act as a consultant and supplier of a unique combination of fully integrated virtual simulation and physical testing solutions to leading space agencies in the Middle East for the design and development of their future satellites.
With working relationships with leading aerospace organisations like Nasa, the Euopean Space Agency, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and EADS, LMS supports greater collaboration with emerging space industries and organisations in the MENA region.
"LMS International is often asked to consult on satellite and space technology projects, as well as supply products and services to assist in the satellite design and testing process.
Raising standards
"We therefore have a strong interest in raising the knowledge level of the employees of our partner companies, very much in line with regional efforts to encourage Gulf nationals to actively participate in the private sector," Abdul Zein, Area Manager for Southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said.
"Our virtual simulation solutions allow companies to identify potential problems early in the design process of advanced satellite technology, so they can make the necessary and recommended changes before any physical tests are ever performed, saving resources, time and money," Zein said.
The final day of the GSTF featured a specialised Advanced Sat-Com Conference, opening with a keynote address by Khaled Al Awadhi, head of international relations for the UAE's Telecom Regulatory Authority, on the future of communication and the role of satellites.
It also included a speech by Stephane Chenard, Principal Analyst at Euroconsult, on capacity constraints in Middle East satellite markets.
