Connor wins skeet gold

Todi: US shooter Katlyn Conner won skeet gold in the third edition of the Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Women’s Shooting Championship in Todi, Umbria, on Friday.

The event marked the first day of the competition, with trap contests due to start on Monday.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Khalifa Bin Khalid Al Nahyan awarded the medals and congratulated Shaikha Fatima on the championship’s success.

“The championship demonstrates to the world the cultural and sports legacy of our country,” he said. “It reflects the prominent role Shaikha Fatima has in empowering women.”

Shaikha Hamda Bint Khalifa Bin Khalid Al Nahyan was also present and celebrated Shaikha Fatima’s contribution to women’s sport.
