Bukhatir League T20 sees a 313-run victory

Sharjah: Unicon Cricket Club achieved a record feat in the 24th edition of the Bukhatir League Twenty20 tournament by winning a Twenty20 match by 313 runs against Musafir Cricket Club.

After piling up 364 for five in 20 overs, Unicon then bowled out Musafir for a paltry 51 in 10.3 overs at the Sharjah Stadium.

It was one of the biggest victories in domestic cricket as Unicon, who won the toss, and hammered the Musafir attack. Openers Naseeb Khan and Sajjad Hussain put on 178 runs for the first wicket. Naseeb hit 10 sixes and four boundaries during his breezy knock of 80 runs from only 23 balls. Sajjad hit 82 runs off 27 deliveries with 13 fours and three sixes.

Waseem Rana swelled the total blasting 12 sixes and three boundaries during his 24-ball stay at the wicket. He missed his century by four runs. Saif Ullah too blasted a 29-ball unbeaten 65 with six boundaries and four sixes to ensure Unicon post a mammoth 364 for five in 20 overs.

A tired and exhausted Musafir team lost two quick wickets before opening their account. Only two batsmen Sidarth (20) and Ritesh (10) reached double figures and were bowled out for 51 in 10.3 overs. Akhtar Baloch destroyed Musafir batting with four wickets while Waseem Baloch took three wickets and Asad Ansari chipped in with two wickets.

Meanwhile, in the seventh Al Dhaid Gold Cup tournament played at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village, a four-wicket haul from Rahim Bas helped Multiplex Cricket Club trounce Interface Transworld by eight wickets.

Put in to bat first, Interface suffered early losses after four top order batsmen fell cheaply. From 25 for four, Interface Transworld was bailed out of trouble by Bilal Irshad through a steady 48 from 73 deliveries. However, Interface Transworld were still bundled out for 120 in 31.3 overs.

Chasing an easy target, Multiplex’s Ali Zeeshan fired a 36-ball 37 with four boundaries and a six while Aklaq Bhatt cracked a fine unbeaten 55 from 65 balls with eight boundaries to ensure the victory.
