Abu Dhabi: Al Jazira were the only Arabian Gulf League side to encounter problems in club licensing this week.

Every other team was granted a license but the Abu Dhabi side were issued one on condition of satisfying further financial criteria. Club licenses are necessary to compete in Asian competitions. Last year five teams had to satisfy further requirements, which shows a year-on-year improvement in financial discipline among local clubs. Newly promoted sides will be evaluated in June and July.
