Slip-ups at the top in the AGL

Dubai: The big ones faltered to consolidate their position at the top after Al Wasl and Al Wahda both played out to identical 2-2 draws against Ajman and Hatta respectively in 10th round action of the Arabian Gulf League on Thursday.

Defending champions Al Jazira were the only team who took full points after their 2-1 away win against Sharjah in the late night encounter.

Al Wasl, however, continued to lead the standings with 22 points followed by Al Wahda (20), Al Ain (19), Al Jazira (16).

Shabab Al Ahli Dubai were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Dhafra on Friday and Emirates beat Dibba 1-0.
