Dubai: The UAE beat hosts Uzbekistan 65-13 in the Asian Rugby Championship Division Two semi-final in Tashkent on Wednesday.

Apollo Perelini’s side will now play Thailand in Saturday’s final after the latter beat Guam 25-16.

The Asian Rugby Championship is an annual 15s format for Asian nations. The UAE assumed the Arabian Gulf Rugby Football Union’s position in the previously titled Asian Five Nations premier division in 2011 and consolidated their position until back-to-back relegations in 2013 and 2014.

Whoever wins Saturday’s final will earn promotion to Division One, while the loser of the third place play-off between Uzbekistan and Guam will be relegated to Division Three.
