Dubai: The Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team has taken an innovative step that will see the opening of a novel Pop-up Store in an attempt to woo and bring sponsors and fans closer to its riders and philosophy.

From February 23 and April 7, the team will open up the ‘Pop-up Store’ (or socialising hub) at the Ring Shopping in Kortrijk. Fans can simply turn up at the store and enjoy a fantastic experience in a unique Quick-Step Floors environment.

The opening of the ‘Pop-up Store’ will be on February 23 to mark the commencement of the Classics season with pre-Omloop Het Nieuwsblad race and will continue for more than six weeks till the Paris-Roubaix weekend. Fans and spectators will have a myriad of activities during the course of the 45 days ranging from photo and autograph sessions of the riders to contests and workshops conducted by the team mechanics.

Among the highlights, Quick-Step Floors Cycling Team CEO Patrick Lefevere and Classics legend Tom Boonen — winner of more than 20 one-day races during his 16-year career — will give an insight into the world of the rough cobbled races to the fans.

“We are proud to launch the Quick-Step Floors Pop-up Store. Not only that it’s a first for a cycling team, but it goes in line with our concept and desire of bringing the fans closer to us. Cycling is a sport which would be poorer without the fans and their support, and that’s why we are glad to give them the opportunity to join us during the Classics and hopefully share many great moments that will become indelible memories over the years,” Lefevere said at the announcement.

Fans can also drop by at the merchandising stand of Quick-Step Floors and pick up clothing, gadgets and exclusive items on sale, or simply walk around discovering the Quick-Step Floors’ Wall of Fame that includes the team’s top moments since its inception in 2003.
