Strasburg sets up franchise record for longest scoreless streak

Washington: Pitcher Stephen Strasburg allowed two hits in eight scoreless innings as the Washington Nationals clinched the National League East Division title with a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday.

Strasburg extended his Major League Baseball scoreless streak to 34 innings as the Nationals clinched the division when the Atlanta Braves beat the Miami Marlins.

He struck out 10 batters and established a franchise record for the longest scoreless streak. Trea Turner belted a home run for Washington while Victor Robles and Adrian Sanchez added RBI doubles. Nick Williams hit a two-run single in the ninth inning in the loss for the Phillies.
