Rio de Janeiro: Unbeaten former world champion Floyd Mayweather says he is on a “scouting” mission to sniff out fresh boxing talent at the Rio Olympics.

The American appeared in the crowd — with a large entourage surrounding him — at the Games boxing on Saturday and then made another appearance on Sunday evening.

Mayweather, 39, retired last year after going 49-0 to seal his place as one of the finest boxers in history and has now turned his hand to boxing promotion and has a growing stable of fighters.

And Mayweather, who won bronze at the 1996 Atlanta Games, made no secret of what he was doing in Rio, tweeting: “At the Olympics scouting future boxing champions.”
