Athlete Del Sol wins Wathba Stud Cup

Abu Dhabi Athlete Del Sol ridden by J Brunwig won the Wathba Stud Farm Cup race for small stables and owners held in Duindigt, the Netherlands on Sunday.

The Dormane son, trained by owner Karen van den Boss, won by half a length from Sankado, with Sakina de Faust finishing third in the 11 horse race.

The Wathba Stud Farm Cup races are part of the Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival.

Officials of the Dutch Arabian Racing Federation (DARC) and the Dutch Arabian Studbook attended the race and thanked the UAE for its support.

The Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Flat Racing Festival's Wathba Stud Farm Cup races are staged with support from Invest AD, Areej Al Ameerat, La Sirene, the UAE's General Women's Union, Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition 2011, Wathba Stud Farm and Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club.
