American hopefuls arrive in Dubai ahead of World Cup bid

Animal Kingdom and Royal Delta currently house in DWC Centre

Dubai: American Dubai World Cup (G1) contenders Animal Kingdom and Royal Delta have landed in Dubai ahead of next Saturday’s $10 million contest.

The duo flew in from Florida and are currently housed in the DWC Quarantine Centre, where they will remain until Sunday.

Animal Kingdom, who won the 2011 Kentucky Derby is trained by Graham Motion while two-time Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (G1) winner Royal Delta represents former Dubai World Cup winning trainer Bill Mott.

Prior to Animal Kingdom’s departure Motions told the Bloodhorse: “Knock on wood, everything has gone super. We haven’t missed a beat. Everything has gone basically to schedule without a hitch.”

“I’ve seen a change in him he seems a lot sharper going into this race.”

Breeders’ Cup winner Trinniberg, who is trained by Shivananda Parbhoo, has also travelled to Dubai to compete in the Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1).
