Stunning Victory Charge

Jonathan Sochart recorded an amazing birdie-birdie finish on the National Course at Abu Dhabi Golf Club to snatch victory from Bill Farrell in the Al Masaood October Monthly Medal.

Sochart trailed Farrell by two strokes as he teed up on the 17th, but a superb birdie three on the tough par four followed by a four on the par-five closing hole enabled him to grab victory by a single shot by finishing on one over par 73.

Farrell was not out of the prizes despite being pipped at the last as he carried off the Division A (0-14 handicap) honours on countback from Louis Gosselin and James Hutcheson after all three had returned nett three-under par 69s.

In the men's Division B (15-28 handicap) Roger Vial's nett one-under par 71 gave him victory by a single stroke from Robert Moore and Lee Woodley.

Susan Henderson's fine score of gross 80 saw her comfortably beat off all challengers for the ladies leading gross prize. Leading ladies divisional prizes were won by Michelle Larter in the silver division with a nett 75, while Agnes Letier-Lacaze's excellent score of 70 was good enough to claim the top prize in the ladies bronze division.
