Panting, North win Carpetland Open

Dubai: Warren Panting and Vanessa North won the Carpetland Monthly Open at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club with an amazing betterball strokeplay score of 62, 9 under par.

The pair carded nine individual net birdies, four on the front nine and five on the back nine to win by a single shot.

Runners up for the second month in a row, with exactly the same score, were David Gowans and Joy Lirio with a net 63, 8 under par.

Najla Bartette and Agnes Anwar with a net 64, 7 under par took third place.

All the top three winning pairs have secured their place in the fourth consecutive grand finals to be held at Dubai Creek in May 2010.

Interested competitors are left with the month of April to try and claim an elusive place in the prestigious final.
