London: West Ham United must stick together if they are to turn their dismal start to the Premier League season around, forward Marko Arnautovic has said.
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat by promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers was West Ham’s fourth from four games and heaped more pressure on new manager Manuel Pellegrini and his big-money signings.
“I know what the players feel and that the club and the fans are expecting more, but we need to stick together and believe in each other. We need to get confidence to turn things around,” Arnautovic told the club’s website.
Things do not get easier for West Ham after the international break with a trip to Everton followed by home fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester United coming up in their next three league games.
“I know we have good players and we have quality, but we need to show this. On paper, it’s nice to see, but on the field, it isn’t happening like we want, and we need to pick it up,” added Arnautovic. (Reuters)
