Reports suggest that the Saudi Pro League is plotting a blockbuster move to lure Vinícius Júnior away from Real Madrid, where the Brazilian forward remains under contract until 2027.

PIF-owned Saudi clubs are reportedly prepared to smash the world transfer record by offering Real Madrid a staggering €300 million for the 23-year-old, eclipsing Neymar's €222 million transfer from Barcelona to PSG in 2017.

In addition, Spanish radio network Cadena SER claims Vini Jr is being promised a jaw-dropping €1 billion contract over five years, equating to an annual salary of €200 million.

Although no formal offer has been made yet, the potential deal showcases Saudi Arabia's ambition to dominate global football markets.

The country has already demonstrated its financial clout by signing Cristiano Ronaldo to Al-Nassr, where he became the world’s highest-paid athlete, while John Durán joined the Portuguese forward last month for €77m.

In light of the Saudi interest, Vini Jr has reportedly demanded to become Real Madrid’s highest-paid player, surpassing Kylian Mbappé.

According to journalist Tono García, "If they offer him €20 million, he will not renew." García added that the winger is seeking a deal exceeding €25 million annually - a figure described as “practically impossible” for Real Madrid to agree to.

Two meetings have already taken place between the Champions League holders and Vini Jr’s representatives to negotiate a contract extension. However, it is understood that the forward has made his demands clear, and the possibility of him moving to Saudi Arabia looms larger as talks stall.

If Real Madrid fails to meet his expectations or refuses to sell him, Vini Jr could see out his contract and leave as a free agent in 2027.
