Togo appeal rejected by CAS

Lausanne: Togo will not be included in the upcoming draw for the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected an appeal from the country's football association.

CAS late Thursday dismissed the request by the Football Federation of Togo (FTF), saying a new draw could be held if the Togo is later successful in overturning a ban on its participation in the next Nations Cups.

Togo was banned for two tournaments after it withdrew from last month's event in Angola following a fatal gun attack on its team bus.
