Paris: South Sudan broke ranks on Saturday to support Gianni Infantino in the Fifa presidential race despite the Confederation of African Football (CAF) voting 24 hours earlier to back Asian supremo Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa. “We are supporting Gianni Infantino for the FIFA presidency,” said Chabur Goc Alei, the president of the South Sudan football federation, in an e-mail. “We feel that his project is the best for our federation, for Africa and the world. I think more colleagues in Africa will back him because he is the right man for the job.”
