Schafer to coach Al Ahli seniors

Former Cameroon coach Winfried Schafer will train the Al Ahli senior football team for the rest of the current season.

Schafer [54] was dismissed from Cameroon in November 2004 after he led them for three years where they qualified for the World Cup finals in 2002 and won the African Nations Cup the same year.

The German coach was expected to arrive last night. He will attend the Al Ahli league match today at Al Nasr.

His debut will be against Qatari Al Sadd in Doha in the Asian Champions League.
