Abu Dhabi: The UAE national team have called up Al Shabab midfielder Hassan Ebrahim for their 2015 Asian Cup qualifier against Uzbekistan at Al Jazira’s Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium on March 22.
In the only other change to the squad that beat Vietnam 2-1 in the opening qualification match last month, coach Mahdi Ali has left out Al Jazira left-back Abdullah Mousa.
The UAE will gather on Thursday in Abu Dhabi to start their domestic training camp ahead of next week’s match.
The following players are in the squad: Abdul Aziz Haikal, Abdul Aziz Sangoor, Esmail Al Hammadi, Ahmad Khalil and Majid Hassan from Al Ahli; Mohammad Fawzi, Amer Abdul Rahman and Habboush Saleh from Bani Yas; Ali Khaseef, Khalid Eisa, Ali Al Ameri, Khamis Esmail and Ali Mabkhoot from Al Jazira; Waleed Abbass and Hassan Ebrahim from Al Shabab; Mohammad Ahmad, Dawood Sulaiman, Mohannad Al Enazy and Omar Abdul Rahman from Al Ain; Habib Al Fardan from Al Nasr; Hamdan Al Kamali, Esmail Mattar and Saeed Al Kathiri from Al Wahda.
The UAE lead their Group E qualifying group with three points from one match, followed by Uzbekistan and Hong Kong, who have one point each. Vietnam are bottom after losing their home match to the UAE.
