Clash of England’s top two teams could have big bearing on the league

Chelsea have always respected the FA Cup and taken it seriously. Beating Spurs would not only put us in another final but it would also have an effect on the confidence of both clubs in the Premier League title run-in. Spurs have been by far the in-form team, they have some brilliant young players that will only get better but I believe we’ve got experience and quality to overcome their challenge in both competitions.

We have great memories of the new Wembley unlike Spurs and I hope for more memories this weekend. We’d love to win the Premier League the most. I never thought it was done and dusted knowing the quality and competitiveness of the league. But I’m sure we’ll finish it off soon buoyed by a confidence-changing result in the FA Cup over Spurs.

I’m hoping the ribbons on both trophies will be Chelsea blue this season.

If ever there was a season and history defining game, then this is it. There’s no getting away from the impact this match could have on the Premier League title race. The psychological lift the winners of this clash would get is priceless. On March 18, Spurs were a whopping 13 points behind Chelsea. This has now been reduced to a measly four points thanks to our current streak of seven wins as well as Chelsea’s recent wobbles against Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

This will be a tight affair in a neutral stadium and I expect Mauricio’s men will edge it.
