Dubai: The Al Nasr club Board of Directors chairman Qadhi Muroshed said they will renew the contract of Brazilian coach Vagner Mancini after he succeeded with the team in the last two league matches.

"Mancini proved that he is a good coach. He led the team to success in two crucial matches against Al Jazira and Al Shaab. We will renew his contract and he will be the team coach in the coming season 2007-2008," said Muroshed.

Mancini who arrived in Dubai two weeks ago, signed with Al Nasr for two months. The board had said that his contract will be extended for the new season if he achieved good results and helped Al Nasr out of the relegation zone.

Three days after his arrival, Mancini led Al Nasr to beat Al Jazira 3-1 at the latter's ground in Abu Dhabi and the Al Nasr supporters breathed a sigh of relief at las.

Mancini succeeded in his second match when Al Nasr defeated Al Shaab 3-2 at home Al Maktoum Stadium last Sunday.

"I am pleased that the team are sailing on safe waters now and performing well. The most thing we worked on it was the morale of the players. We succeeded in returning them to their normal morale condition which they lacked in the last period.

"This helped them to show excellent performances which contributed in victories against strong teams like Al Jazira and Al Shaab," Mancini said.

Dazzling form

The Al Nasr coach praised his players for the dazzling form they showed in their last match against Al Shaab in which Serbian striker Nenad Jestrovic scored three goals. Qadhi Muroshed expressed his happiness with club supporters backing the team during the crucial matches.

"The Al Nasr supporters did a tremendous job in the last matches. They didn't let us down.

"They gathered behind the team in home and away matches and played a significant role in achieving success as well as the players' great efforts. The technical staff also made excellent contributions," said Muroshed.
