Abu Dhabi: At last the saga of Rashid Abdul Rahman, the former defender of Al Shaab and UAE, is on its way to find a solution.

Rashid, nicknamed UAE Bosman, was the first local footballer to leave his club and seek a career outside.

He signed for Swiss club Yverdon last year despite his club Al Shaab's disapproval to the deal. But Fifa supported player and ruled that his contract with the Swiss club will stay.

Rashid was followed by Mohammad Sorrour, his colleague in Al Shaab and the striker of the UAE, and Obaid Al Taweela, the custodian of Dubai club.

But when Rashid decided to come back and play for Al Jazira as a professional, he had to abide by the local rules set by the UAE FA.

That meant that Rashid was once again in the hands of Al Shaab whose management refused to negotiate any deal with any other club.

But Shaikh Abdullah Bin Salem Al Qasimi, the President of Al Shaab, decided to agree on the deal if Rashid apologised through all Arabic newspapers that he made a wrong decision by leaving for Switzerland.

In a letter addressed to Shaikh Abdullah, Rashid said he committed a bad mistake towards the club in which he grew up and that he regrets his actions that led to his departure from the club and he asked for forgiveness from the club's management, players and fans. Rashid said that he is wishing the best for his old club and expressed his hopes that the future will be brighter for him to return to the UAE national team while playing for his new club Al Jazira.

Meanwhile, both Al Taweela and Sorrour have joined Al Ahli. Al Taweela played his first match against Al Ain. Sorrour is still on the bench and hopes to play soon.

Sorrour had also apologised publicly before joining Al Ahli in a free transfer deal.
