New Delhi: Indian authorities yesterday blamed a Dubai-based company and its Indian partner for the the mess at the Commonwealth Games village.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and organising committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi said Emaar MGF, a joint venture between the UAE's Emaar Properties and India's MGF Development, were responsible for the problems with the facilities.

Until recently, Kalmadi had claimed that the Games village would be better than the one provided to athletes during the Beijing Olympics.

Emaar declined to comment yesterday.
