Abu Dhabi: The Lashings World XI, who arrive here tomorrow, will play two Twenty20 matches during their short tour of Abu Dhabi.

Apart from some of the past greats like Alvin Kallicharran and Graeme Hick, the Lashings World XI includes some of the recently-retired stars like Marvan Atapattu, Chris Cairns, Grant Flower, Rashid Latif and Brendon Taylor.

Lashings take on the Chairman's XI (virtually the UAE national team) on February 25 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium and the game marks Abu Dhabi's first ever international Twenty20 affair.

Dilawar Mani, CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket Club, said: "The Twenty20 match offers a wonderful opportunity for cricket fans to witness top international cricketers play at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

"Further it is the opportunity for the budding cricketing stars of UAE to showcase their abilities against a strong opposition like Lashings.

"Tickets are available at the Zayed Cricket Stadium office reception from 10 am to 6 pm," he said.

Lashings will take on an Etihad XI the next day while the visiting stars are also expected to conduct short coaching classes for invited youngsters.

Emirates Palace, Etihad Airways, Gulf Technical & PDM International are supporting the events.
