BCCI gets government clearance to host Punjab vs Dehli match in Dharamshala on Thursday
Dubai: The Indian Premier League match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians will be moved to Mumbai from Dharamsala, according to sources in the BCCI.
The match originally to be held at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in Dharamsala on May 11 will be now very likely be held in Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium or the Brabourne Stadium due to the unavailability of the Wankhede Stadium.
The decision comes in the wake of heightened security concerns after Operation Sindoor. Following the military response launched by India following a terror attack in Pahalgam, the nearest airport to Dharamsala, including the Kangra Airport were temporarily shut down.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has received clearance from the Indian government to host match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals match on Thursday in Dharamshala at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium. However, the May 11 match has been shifted from Dharmshala to Mumbai, and the new date for the match will be updated soon.
