Dubai: India A defeated Oman by six wickets at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha on Tuesday to book its berth in the semi-finals in the Asia Cup Rising Stars T20 tournament.
In a must-win clash in Doha on Tuesday, India A chose to field first and delivered a collective bowling performance that restricted Oman to 135 for seven. Gurjapneet Singh and Suyash Sharma led the attack, picking up four wickets between them. With the bowlers containing the hosts to a modest total, the responsibility shifted to India’s aggressive openers.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya showed brief promise but departed early on a sluggish, two-paced surface. Stepping up to a special No. 4 promotion, all-rounder Harsh Dubey embraced the occasion, compiling a composed maiden T20 fifty off 41 deliveries to guide India A to a six-wicket victory. Despite their earlier loss to the Pakistan Shaheens, India A secured a spot in the semi-finals, where they will face the Group A toppers on Friday afternoon.
