Rahul won the toss and put Eoin Morgan's side in to bat. It was a contrasting start for the openers as Shubman Gill smashed 57 off 45 balls, while his partner Nitish Rana was out first ball.

Morgan also chipped in with 40, but many other KKR men, including Pat Cummins, failed with the bat as they could reach 149-9.

Rahul (28) and Mandeep Singh (66*) got Punjab off to a fine start.

And man of the moment Chris Gayle chalked up another half-century with his 51 off 29 balls, including two fours and five sixes.

Gayle's contribution took KXIP to the brink of victory, before Mandeep and Nicholas Pooran (2) saw them home.

It was another great win for Punjab, who were languishing at the bottom of the standings not so long ago, but are now in a play-off position.
