Former Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong spotted on Dubai's Al Qudra Cycling track

Cyclist Lance Armstrong prepares to ride with Dubai cyclists at the Al Qudra Cycling Track. The former Tour de France winner was at an event organized by Dubai sports Council.

The former American professional cyclist led a bike tour around Beirut on Sunday to raise awareness and funds for organizations helping residents affected by a massive explosion that struck the Lebanese capital in August. According to media reports, he is on a four-day work trip to the UAE.

Armstrong tweeted from UAE: ''Loving my time in Dubai. I mean, who has 180kms of dedicated cycling track? impressive. And a #TdF champ to boot. Great group out there today! Raising hands.''

Sand dunes formed the backdrop of a sunny ride for Armstrong and his buddies.

Pedal power is a great way to keep fit and the Government of Dubai, with the aim to promote a healthier lifestyle, has been building many dedicated biking paths through in the emirate.
