Look: Children and the iconic robots at Expo 2020 Dubai

Nobody at Expo 2020 Dubai was happier than the children playing with the Opti around the site. In six months, Expo 2020’s iconic robots brought smiles, dances, and emojified frowns.

Expo 2020 Dubai’s focus on children and education has boosted its visit numbers, with 2.7 million children under 18 visiting the site since the event opened on October 1 last year. Children are making the most out of the Expo 2020 activities by participating in events and interacting with robots.

The friendliest robot in town, Opti is a treat for young visitors.

This little guy participates in Expo parades and flash mobs, stands upright, moves freely and operates safely for 24 hours straight.

Patrol robots are equipped with an HD facial recognition camera, real-time thermal camera and SOS button; these robots were on 24-hour duty to remind visitors of safe practices such as social distancing.
