Dubai Fitness Challenge: A walk with the K9 unit

Dubai police K9 unit and dog owners participate in the Dubai Fitness Challenge 30X30 at Palm West beach.

Launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai in 2017, the challenge encourages Dubai residents and visitors to take up 30 minutes of physical activities a day for 30 days and transforms the entire city into a fitness hub.

From aerobics, boxing and yoga to rowing, padel, cricket and football, basketball and volleyball are organised for groups, families and individuals to take part.

Many residents said the challenge has motivated them to commit to good health.

The Dubai Police K9 unit have marked many accomplishments, most notably during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Dubai Police K9 Unit carried out several missions including security checks, anti-drug operations and raids.

The K9 unit currently operates with 63 professional trainers and 73 canines of six different breeds, including German Shepherd, Dutch Shepherd, Malinois dog, English Springer, Labrador Retriever, and Cocker Spaniel.
