A Blue Moon rose tonight in the UAE skies just after 7 pm and residents across the city were out photographing the extraordinary celestial event.

Enthusiasts witness supermoon from Al Thuraya Astronomy Centre in Dubai, which is also called Blue Moon. The moon does not appear blue at this time, however, the term 'Blue Moon' has nothing to do with color, instead referring to either two moons occurring in the same calendar month.
