How Bollywood is getting into the groove of Holi celebrations

Despite many of the Holi events being called off globally over fears of the coronavirus, Bollywood stars appear to have found a way to celebrate the Indian festival of colours in their own little way. While Priyanka Chopra Jonas and husband Nick Jonas continue to paint the town with every shade since last weekend’s Holi bash hosted by Isha Ambani, others too have joined in the fun and festivities.

Chopra Jonas and her husband are celebrating Holi in Pune at the Poonawala residence, days after they celebrated the festival at the actress’ close friend Isha Ambani’s party. “We have already been living in color over the past few days. Literally. Nick’s first Holi was made so special being home. May everyone celebrating have a very happy and safe Holi,” wrote Chopra Jonas as her mother Madhu and brother joined the happy couple.

Sonakshi Sinha shared a Holi selfie on Instagram, talking about her low-key celebration in light of the coronavirus. The actress captioned the image, writing: “Happy Holi everyone!! Not celebrating my favorite festival this year, because it’s more important to be safe! Hope you all have a safe and sound holi too.”

Actress Karisma Kapoor is getting back in the game with her new web series ‘Mentalhood’ on AltBalaji, after a long hiatus. The actress posted a picture on Instagram of playing Holi with her on-screen kids, writing: “Real life Mental mom! And wouldn’t have it any other way. Happy Holi all!”

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan didn’t share an image of himself playing Holi; however, he did share a picture of his wife Kiran Rao and son Azad playing with colours on the day, with a ‘Holi Mubarak’ to all.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra has a lot to celebrate this Holi, considering she’s become a mother a second time around with daughter Samisha. The actress, who is making her comeback in films with ‘Hungama 2’ shared Holi greetings on TikTok and Instagram, writing: “May these beautiful colours erase all negativity and bring positivity, love and tonnes of happiness into your lives. Wishing you all a vibrant and happy Holi!”

‘Love Aaj Kal’ actor Randeep Hooda posted a colourful picture with his father, Ranbir Hooda, who also appears to be celebrating his birthday. In an Instagram post, the proud son wrote: “To the man who’s painted my canvas with the colours of a sense of duty, responsibility, caring, hardwork and love..happy birthday papa and the whole country celebrates.. let the various colours of our nation and beliefs compliment and shine as bright as the other.”

Bollywood singer Neha Kakkar, who is on a high these days with the success of her song ‘Mere Angne Me’ is also celebrating the day with colours. “Celebrate each moment to make colourful memories,” posted the singer on Instagram.

Actress Deepika Padukone also appeared to be having a low-key celebration, sharing a video on her Instagram story to wish everyone while doing a little jig to the tune of her famous Holi track with Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Balam Pichkari’.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shared a picture with her daughter Aradhya where the family marked the traditional ceremony of burning the demon Holika or the Holika Dahan, which is celebrated during the festival.

However, the most memorable Holi image shared is one by veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan who uploaded a collage of vintage celebrations with his children, including Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan. He tagged the picture saying: “The days of past Holi’s.. with Abhishek and Jaya at Prateeksha , with Raj ji Shammi ji, Jeetendra, Shatrughan, at RK Studios .. the best Holi.”
