In Pictures: It's travel season, but UAE hotels have some hot staycation deals going

Not planning to travel outside the UAE this summer? Local staycation deals have you covered.

Hotels across the UAE have slashed their prices on staycation deals by 30-40 per cent compared to the January-March peak demand period.

Deals at five-star hotels in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are priced between Dh800 to Dh1,500 per person during the Eid Al Adha break from July 9 to 12.

And then you have four-star hotels pricing deals like free breakfast and unlimited access to the pool for Dh400-Dh1,000 a person.

“Due to the weather conditions, hotels have slashed their prices to entice UAE residents and European tourists to book a staycation,” said Godfrey Lopez of Uranus Travel. “These discounts don't mean staycation deals are running dry - they are doing better by 50 per cent compared to the previous year.”

Lopez expects last-minute booking to push prices up by 20 per cent closer to July 9. He urged residents to make the booking in advance to get the best deals.

Rahesh Babu of musafir.com said that the most popular staycation destinations on the Palm and Yas Island have also reduced prices by 30-40 per cent. Deals for two guests per night during Eid Al Adha are priced between Dh1,000 to Dh1,800. Hotels in Yas Island are priced slightly on the higher side from Dh1,800 to Dh3,000.

Yas Island properties has launched a new package for summer - where two kids under the age of 12, accompanied by two paying adults can stay for free in the same room booked with the parents and play for free at Yas Theme Parks, Kart for free with every session booked at Yas Marina Circuit, and dine free on the same meal plan as the parents.

Meanwhile, in the northern emirates, staycation deals are winning over European travellers. With competitive pricing, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah are definitely scoring this summer, say travel agents.

Five-star hotels in these emirates offer for two night stays during Eid Al Adha break at Dh1,500-Dh1,800 per person. While four-star beachside hotels are priced between Dh850 to Dh950.

Alan Orong of South Travels DMCC said that people are going out now more than ever, and the hotel industry is gaining momentum and set to reach pre-pandemic levels ‘very soon’.

Whether it is a staycation or travelling outside the country, UAE residents are set to have one memorable summer after two-long years.
