Dubai Hills has built up quite the reputation as one of Dubai’s emerging locations for high-end living, with a series of eye-catching deals on villas, apartments and plots. In fact, all through last year, the community recorded some serious gains in property values, and well above the average among other Dubai freehold locations.

Then there was the opening of Dubai Hills Mall, and its addition has built quite the vibe when it comes to shopping and entertainment.

It is into this community milieu that du, the telco, has stepped in. Mind you, not with a smartphone and accessories store or for a customer serving outlet.

At Dubai Hills, du’s office will operate with more than 1,000 staffers.

What explains the shift from DIC to Dubai Hills? “It is a strategic location giving du more opportunity to engage with the local community,” said a du spokesperson. “The new - innovative - office space at Dubai Hills help bring in a positive work culture of productivity, team work and innovation.”

Also making the full trek to the Hills will be du’s high-tech server rooms and all of the other key back-office infrastructure.

These are vibrant times again for Dubai’s office real estate space. The big organisations – local and multinational - are back at expanding their office footprint, of course keeping in mind any changes brought on by the post-pandemic changes in work and office culture.

The du move also signals that significant shift. Gone are the fixation on where HQs should be, how they should look and feel.

As for Dubai Hills, it sure does hew to being a full-fledged ‘mixed-use’ community. For living, shopping – and working.
