Dubai's Palm Dh111m villa: Rent this Dubai holiday home if you can

The priciest residential deal in 2021 so far will remain on the holiday home rental market.

The villa occupies the tip of the 'N' frond on the Palm, a much coveted spot.

But the One100 sure didn’t surprise when the eventual sold price was announced – Dh111.25 million. That it would fetch upwards of Dh100 million was a no-brainer. The only question was whether the deal would be closed near the Dh120 million asking price.

The One100 has certainly been making waves ever since it was listed for sale in June 2020. The location was just part of it…

The new owner wishes to remain anonymous. But the buyer is based in Monaco, and has already left instructions to find potential guests who want to rent out the entire 14,000 square feet villa for a holiday break.

The property was designed from the ground up by its previous owner, Michael Adam Alibhai, who brought in a lot of his own aesthetics into it. Funky is a term that would describe some of the elements that make up the One100.

And Alibhai didn’t hold back on topping it out with all the creature comforts and space that anyone with Dh100 million and some to spend on a home would want.

How easy - or otherwise - was trying to sell it right in the middle of a pandemic? The listing was done in June of 2020 – “Our data shows us that for properties of this sort that this – 8-9 months - is the average duration of the listing before it's sold,” said Leigh Borg, Managing Director of Luxhabitat Sotheby’s International Realty.

Now, the bit about space. When you have 14,000 square feet available, there’s so much that can be done to make full use of it. A master-bedroom of 1,300 square feet is part of the package.
